First Day of School!

School is back in session! Kamele woke up extra early this morning since it was her first day of kindergarden. Her teacher is Ms. Richardson and Kamele already loves her. Kainoa has Ms. Vanzandt (now Ms. Seifried) and he was excited to be in her class. She teaches the Eagles program and is an excellent teacher. She is also a football junkie, so Kainoa thinks she is cool. LOL I can't believe he is in the 4th grade!! Time flies!

After the excitement wears off, Kamele will have a rude awakening when she has to get up early day after day. She was getting really good at sleeping in ;)

Summer is over :(

Summer is long gone~ here are a few 'highlight' pictures according to the kids LOL Kamele playing dress-up. I don't think she ever feels too old to dress up like a princess.
A day with mommy at the salon. She sure loved being pampered. Look at that smile!
Mommy giving Kainoa a mohawk! Although he only kept it for a few days, it sure got a lot of looks.

Watch Your Fingers!!

Poor Kamele....she had a battle with a closet door, and the door won :(

I had just left to go train at the gym and Kevin called me (very calm I might add) and asked if we needed to go to the clinic for injuries since it was not after hours. So of course I asked him what happened. He says "Kamele smashed her finger in the door." So I asked him if he thought it was serious enough to go to the emergency room. His reply- "Well it sliced through the nail and the finger is hanging there."

Needless to say, we took her to the E.R. When Kamele was asked what happened, her reply was: "Well, it was all because Daddy told us to clean our rooms..." LOL

Here are a few pictures of the boo boo and one of her after the stitches. She was such a tough little girl.

Summer Camps

If it were up to the kids, they would be in some sort of summer camp all summer long! Of course, they would want a different camp each week ;) We settled on one for each of them, and they had lots of fun.

Kainoa attended cub scout day camp for a week in June. They arrived early morning and stayed until 4:00 each day. Everytime I picked him up he was exhausted from the many activites and of course the heat! The final day the scouts put on a skit and the parents were allowed to come and watch them perform.

Getting ready to perform the group skit.
All the boys working together!
Kamele was off to Stratford High School Cheerleading Camp. This is her 3rd time going and boy does she love it. She would wake up early waiting to go everyday :) I think it would be safe in saying that Kamele would have been perfectly content going to something like this all summer long LOL. Here are a few pictures from the Cheer Camp.

So much for blogging frequently :)

So as you can see I haven't been the best about keeping this up to date. I guess this summer had ended up being pretty busy and fun-filled. We would still love to try to squeeze a trip to Six Flags in before school starts, but we will just have to see.

We have had some good times this summer so far. Kamele has learned to swim all on her own! She takes after her daddy and insists on keeping her eyes open under water ALL THE TIME. Kainoa and her have become quite the fish!

Keri, Aiden and Morgan came to visit! We love having them even closer to us now. Since Steve is out to sea we have told Keri she can come as often as she wants. We know how hard it can be not having her honey here. Here is a picture of all of the kids at the pool. They could all be brothers and sisters!

Summer Is Here!!

I couldn't think of a better time to start a blog. I have been saying for some time now that I would start a blog of the kids and all of the happenings in our lives. Days passed by and I still had not gotten around to it.

Living so far away from family has made me realize that I really need to keep a blog so they can feel like they are part of our lives even moreso.

We are not even 1 week into summer vacation and we have already been to the pool 3 times. We've been to the movies, and we've done a little shopping. More to come!
